Sealants

Dental sealants are used to prevent decay by placing a tooth-colored coating in the deep grooves of the teeth to help “seal” out bacteria. Sealants act as a barrier to keep acids and bacteria out of the chewing surfaces of the teeth. We recommend sealing certain teeth, especially in children, who have deep grooves or pits that may be susceptible to a cavity. Dr. Neumeyer and your hygienist will determine if a sealant is recommended at your routine cleaning and exam!
